Indeed, thread title makes it seem the S Cross was the car being rejected!

The reject was a Corsa e.

last night she had thoughts and will negotiate on price there are other options available for the same car with fairly similar mileages for a bit less so here we go!

Hubby says we are to keep out of negotiations as they'll have to finance it themselves.

I tried a vitara last year, not enthusiastic. Recently went with a friend to let him try an S Cross.

Not enthusiastic either. It drove well but we both hated the seats. ( I did a few miles driving as well) It did drive well.!

Poor instrument visibility as per the vitara and touch screen info centre showing lots of reflections.

For someone who can live with the seats must be a good cheap choice and good value at just over a year old for £16-17000.

I think one of the reasons that people buy Suzuki, is for their confidence in reliability. They a functional no frills motor which does the job . My Oh has a Vitara , the only thing “touch “ is the media screen . Everything else is knobs buttons and switches. It’s even got a conventional handbrake

Agreed, but for me the seats left a lot to be desired. The S Cross a few days ago with my friend who is a bit poor in his car choices.. He liked the drive. Didn't like the reflections on the media centre and the poor to read speedo. Did like the speed limit alert sign between the speedo and rev counter and didn't like the lumbar support.

I made the identical mistake 4 years ago when I bought the Kia Stonic. lasted 6 weeks with my back.

I honestly prefer the seats in my 14 yr old Venga to the Suzuki, but we are all different.

One neighbour did listen to me and got a Sportage.

I’ve just done a tally and I’ve had 25 cars (owned and company) in over 50 years of driving. Never had one I couldn’t get on with once I had it set up. The only one I got leg ache from was a BMW3 but even that wasn’t a real problem, although I never loved it. Probably my favourite was a Saab 9-5. But I also got on well with Mondeos, including a V6.

On the other hand catsmum has had issues/dislikes with most of my cars including my current Golf. Her favourite was the gutless 1.6 Astra she owned for many years. However she is very happy with her current car……a Vitara.

It just shows were all different and you need a proper test drive to decide if a car is right for you.

'm sorry ORB, I understand we're all different shapes and sizes but in all honesty not sure I've ever been in or driven a car that I couldn't get comfortable in after adjustment, took my Vitara to Scotland twice ( 602 miles each way) and never once felt any aches etc.

Paul, I LIKED the look of the car that my friend went to see. To me it looked better than a Vitara and the seats (to my mind) appear to be slightly wider, He drove through town and on some A and B roads. Then I drove back.

It really was (and I apologise if you think I am putting it down... I most definitely am not ! ) a nice car... But the left hip and left calf didn't like it.

The illumination on the speedo is a simple matter of adjustment, reflections on the media centre?? Surely a product of the direction of travel and time of day?

Speedo is grey, needles on grey and hard for me to see the numbers...

Media screen was dull as well and reflected light. I can;t be bothered to have to position the car so that I can adjust things What was good were the 2 zone climate control with proper knobs. and the buttons to the right of the dashboard to turn off the annoying bits. I didn't find the lane keep annoying at all. When it went off it was almost discreet.

Some reviewers in the mags have not been enamoured with the graphics, but when I could see them it looked ok.

An excellent car for someone, just not me.

But I have done Dunkirk to Trier 409 kms pretty well non stop in the korando, and that is comfy.
