Well, as the title says, has anyone used this place to buy a car??
They are offering 25.5% off New unregistered UK supplied Mondeos, making a 2.0 TDCi Ghia X Estate £16600 (Saving £5800), Although options are full price, just wondered if anyone has used them? My only concern is that you pay the initial £500 to them, then the rest to the UK suppling dealer.
Drivethedeal.com on the other had are offering about £3000 off the same model, but also offer the same discount (12.5% I think) on all options, and you pay all your money to the UK suppling dealer....
Obviously the 2nd option is the savest, but £5800 discount is alot!!!

Not the case when I used ukcarbroker, back in April. All monies went to the UK VW dealer - nothing at all to the broker.
All went smoothly for me - if the system has changed then I can't be so sure.

Cheers CF,
Thats interesting, the fact that you used them ok is a plus point....
Was it also the case that the options where full price at that time??

As CF says, the deposit is paid to the dealer, not the broker. All the brokers' sites I looked at were at great pains to stress that they didn't take any money themselves and weren't a party to the transaction. Think of them as a kind of introduction agency for dealers and buyers.
In the event I was asked for a smaller deposit than the £500 mentioned on the site. It brought the balance to pay to an exact number of thousands.

Exclent, makes you wonder how they make their money, 25.5% off a new Mondeo is massive.
Basically I can have a top of the range Ghia X with a numbern of Factory options (Met paint, Detachable towbar, Xenon lamps, park sensors, ESP, Sat Nav, Elec roof) for £20,950. Without these options which equate to £4,290 the list price from Ford is £22,250!!!

Neil,
some options had a small discount - Metallic was £225 not £250 - other full price, but this was for VW and probably varies for different makes.
As welliesorter points out there are a good few threads for you to browse to get further info, but to sum up - who cares how the broker makes their money, as long as we save ours!

If anyone has read the T&C's, what do they think of this paragraph... can this really be legal??
5.3 The vehicles supplied by UK Car Broker are pre-registered and you understand and accept that you shall not be recorded as the first owner of the V5/logbook.Please note all vehicle registration papers will be kept for 6 months to secure the discount/fleet terms negotiated by UK Car Broker.

That would put me off.
I've no problem with a pre-registered car but I would want the papers in my hands when I part with the money.
Who is the first registered keeper, anyway?
