Peugeot Partner - Vibration in Steering wheel at low speed - Echodagecko
A few weeks ago we had the fuel filter replaced and when the garage carried out a road test afterwards they noticed a vibration in the steering wheel when the wheel was turned left. Previously we had noticed this vibration but didn’t think it was anything of note. The garage believed it was power steering related and believed the power steering pump is failing because the rack seems fine. They quoted a repair cost of £1200 and we need to be confident this will resolve the problem. The current symptom is having no affect on driving and is only felt at less than 20 mph. We have looked at other forums related to failing power steering pumps and the vans symptoms don’t seem to match what others have experienced. We are equally unsure of the implications ignoring the vibration could have.

The van is a 14 plate,
101,000 on the odometer,

Any advise would be greatly appreciated,

Kind regards

Mark

The pas pump is working the same system whether the steering is turned left or right,so not convinced that will be the problem. I would be looking at tightness or excess play in the steering and suspension system. Also check the suspension strut top mounts.

Yes and also check the inner and outer CV joints, if a CV joint is running dry it doesn't necessarily have to be noisy with it.
