To late to appeal? - Scott.Fitz

I received a parking ticket and used a company called Private parking appeals. They sorted the situation out for me without me having to pay the ticket.

It turnes out that I had used the same car park (under the the same mis-assumption that it was legal) 2 weeks after the first fine i received.

My father (who owns the car) received the letter (dated 24th July) but thought it was just a reminder for the first fine, and so didn't pass it on to me. I have today just been given another letter from a debt recovery company (DRP) saying the fine hasn't been paid and has gone up to £160!

I called DRP to let them know I wouldn't be paying the fine until I had appealed but they are telling me that I am now unable to appeal because of the time that has lapsed.

Please advise - is there anything i can do ?

Who issued the ticket, council or private landowner?

Debt Recovery Companies, and even Court Bailifs are economical with the truth. They generally say what suits their purpose

As its DRP it will be a private speculative invoice. Calling them wasn't a good idea, but too late now.
