Ford Focus mk2 1.6 petrol - Focus - MOT emissions fail - high CO, low lambda? - onions

My 2007 ford focus (1.6 petrol) has just failed its MOT on emissions.

The results were :

Fast idle:

CO 9.43%

HC 336 ppm

Lambda 0.755

Second fast idle:

CO 9.93 %

HC 535ppm

Lambda 0.734

Idle:

CO 9.18%

So it looks like it's failed on everything and the CO seems really high. Any ideas for what I should start looking for first? I just checked the air filter and it's fine.

With emission readings this far out,I would think the car must be running poorly with high fuel consumption.Trying to fix a problem like this can be very difficult diy.You need the services of a competent garage.
