Red led in the door flashing indicates the car will not start, but not necessarily due to a faulty immobiliser. If the fault has only occured since the battery replacement,I would suggest take a look at the connections to the battery, especially the negative terminal which has many small leads attached and which can easily become detached to create a no start condition.

Red LED in the door blinking probably indicates the car's locked! That's what my VW means anyway.

Dont know if this will help but to reset the imobiliser on a Renault take the key and put it into the ignition press the door open button ,keeping the button depressed turn the key to the on position [not start ] then keeping it depressed turn it off remove the key away from the ignition switch then put back in and turn back on and see if the light goes out ,iv seen it work on the Renault it may help !

The other option is to go onto youtube and look for a solution to the same problem for your vehicle , good luck with it !

Renault use an infra-red transponder system which is enabled and disabled from the key remote. VW do not. The buttons on the remote are to operate the central locking by radio frequency. The transponder immobiliser is a microchip inside the key. They're totally separate from each other.
