Ford Mondeo - Cold Weather Warning Alarm - JMacD

I have recently bought a Ford Mondeo (06 plate) and a problem has occured now that the weather is getting that bit colder.

Like most cars now when the temp hits 5oC a warning light accompanied with an audible alarm come on warning me that it's cold. However on this car the alarm will continue to beep once every 90 seconds. This continues even if the temp rises and the warning light one the dashboard turns off.

I was wondering if anyone has came across this particular problem before.

Thanks

Never seen this before on a Mondeo. Is the digital outside temp display reading correctly? Are you sure that the beep noise is not for door open or fasten seat belt?

Temp reading is fine, it was reading 3-5 degrees this morning.

It has to be related to the temperature warning light. It happened a few weeks ago when we had a cold morning and the cold weather warning light came on. Has not happened in between times until this morning when the temp dipped again.

I don't suppose there is a way of disabling the thermometer?

Thanks for your help.

You could try disconnecting the outside temp sensor, which is located behind the bumper, under the right headlight. However this may affect the climate control,if fitted.
