Chrysler Grand Voyager 2007 2.8 crd - Thermostat - dan86

I've noticed recently that the temperature gauge is taking ages to get up to optimal temperature. It started after I changed the radiator and flushed out all the crud in the system. Around town it will get up to temperature but takes ages.in the heel we have been having its not taken to long and has managed to get to halfway on the gauge but when it was a bit cooler it would just get between 1/4 and 1/2 way. On the motorway it will start loosing temperature to a point where it is below 1/4. Am I right in suspecting the thermostat?

Certainly a good place to start looking. It sounds as if the thermostat is jammed in the 'open' position.

That was my thoughts but it's an expensive part and a b***** to change so didn't want to take it out unnecessarly like. But it is a known problem on these so I think that's where I'll start. Thanks
