Hello,

Im considering changing the timing belt on my astra.

Is there a basic minimum tool list available?

How difficult is this task?

How long should it take an amateur like me to do?

The 8 valve engine is fairly easy,the 16 valve is a little more complicated with no special tools required for either.However this is a "critical" job,if you get it wrong,it could be goodbye engine.Get yourself a manual and decide.Probably easier to get a garage to do it ,it is a 2hours or less job.

If you have to ask teh question, you don't have teh requisite skills or experience.. in my view.
