Vauxhall Astra H - Some Ice dropped into the car check strap area - DavidB2192

This morning when I opened the car door, some ice dropped into the car door area which is where hinge/on top of the check strap are.

When I had closed the door; I heard the ice breaking up so I am wondering does it damage the check strap,hinge or door after closing it from the ice.

If the door closes OK, still lines up and the gaps are the same as the other side you will be fine.

Steel is much stronger than ice of the thickness you would encounter in a situation like this.

What a fleet you have. Fiestas with paint that scratches on contact with leaves, Corsas that have braking systems made of chocolate. There are probably others.

Never fear, there are.

Astra sporting models with the worlds softest tyres and wheels, not up to being driven on or off kerbs.

On other fora the fleet varies, depending on the weather/time of the month from BMW M3's to Lexus 250's.
