Is it me or car insurance going through the roof?? My 98 2.0 16v vectra is £550 fully comp, I know London is not the best place to have a car but even so at 41 I had hope it would be less, anybody know of companies that might be cheaper or specialise in Vauxhalls ??

Have you tried Tesco? - this was the cheapest I could find for the Omega, and they've been pretty good dealing with the write off. Watch what it covers though, e.g. European cover is extra and no replacement car.

There is a company that appears in a pop up ad on this site - Direct Insure I think, 08000 88888 is the telephone number. I pay £176 a year for full comp on Pug 2.0 Hdi on a X plate, includes continental cover, cover on a loan car, legal expenses, one other driver etc. This is with Frizzell but direct insure got under that and also produced a good quote for my partner's SAAB 9-3; for that they were £100 under Saga's renewal quote. In both cases the cover was with HSBC Bank (Ireland) who at least one has heard of! I suggest that a call to the Freephone number might do you some good, I hope so anyway.

My wife and I - Vx Omega and Toyota Landcruiser. Fully comp. Total 700 quid a year. And she doesn;t even have a UK licence and I don;t have any bonus!
So whilst we\'re out in the sticks and you;re in London, it does seem rather expensive.
And if you do want a quote from anyone advertising on this site, do me a favour and click on their link from this page.
Our link-to-other-sites count is low. So low that either nobody is interested or people are using other methods to find the advertisers. Either way, it would help us a lot if people followed the links from this website as much as possible.
It all counts towards my 1 weird veggie meal in an iffy non-smoking restaurant with no vodka, two dodgy ploughmans and two pints of bitter per year.

Reward or punishment? - not clear.
