Citroen C4 - C4 foglights with mind of their own... - C4HDi

Hello people

I have a 2006 Citroen C4 1.6HDi. A few times recently when the headlights are on, the fof lights have come on of their own accord, usually the fronts, but the backs have done it too. They can either come on and stay on, or flicker on and off. Switching them on then off with the switch doesn't seem to help. I have squirted Servisol switch cleaner into the switch and the problem persists. Any ideas where to look first? I had thought maybe a relay? Which one...? There doesn't seem to be a fog lamp fuse going by my handbook - and really need to sort this with darker nights approaching. Is it going to just be an auto electrician visit? I'm near Carlisle if anyone has a recommendation.

THanks in advance!

...As an after thought... it couldn't be low battery voltage? I'm also getting the occasional fasten seatbelt warnings for unoccupied seats - - could these both stem from an aging battery? It's all black magic...

Modern cars are very dependent on a stable electrical system and certainly a low or poor state battery can give rise to issues even though you may not have any starting problems.I would certainly get the battery and charging system tested. Also remember on later cars, when you operate a switch to turn something on ,there is no direct connection between the switch and the consumer. You are requesting a module to switch on the lights(for example)

Probably a COMM2000 fault. Very common. There's a guy on Ebay who charges under £30 for the repair, highly recommended, and he's an active member of the Peugeot and Citroen forums.

Thanks - I'll look into that!
