fourtrak 2.8 - starting issues - mm707

a few months back the starter was clicking and eventually starting - anyway when I had a look the battery terminal connector had a crack in it. changed it , put another heavy duty marine type on and all was well again.

Lately it started doing it again so I take all the connections off the battery, clean them up, tighten up really tight and it's fine again - for about 10 days then it starts doing it again, one click and then starts ok.

I'm thinking that the starter is ok but where else could there be a problem ?

Please help before I tear out what little hair I have left :)

Thanks

Make sure you check/clean/tighten all the battery positive lead terminals all the way down to the starter and do the same to the negative terminal connection to the engine block/starter/body/chassis.

I would second that. Scrape round the inside of the connectors until they are shiny and the battery posts then put some grease on the terminals before you reassemble it.
