Jaguar XJ6 - Vehicle Inspection - YR

I just wondered if it is at all beneficial to have a car of interest inspected if it has had an MOT in the last month: is the inspector likely to just come to the same conclusions as the advisory points on the MOT?

Get an owners club member to have a look.

Or get a new MOT done at a garage you trust, as the previous MOT was not necessarily impartial if it was done by a friend of the seller.

The seller is a member of the owners club (who is also a dealer in other vehicles) and has told me that the MOT garage wasn't his normal one: probably salesman guff!

How do I get ahold of an owners club member? The club itself only gives you the members details if you are yourself a member

If you are not mechanically minded and I suspect your not just by asking the question then it will be well worth your while to have it inspected. I suggest the AA or RAC with whom you've got a come back if they miss something. An MOT test pass certificate only means it was of the set standard on the day it was tested. You have also got to consider that if there is anything wrong of anything goes wrong with an old Jag is going to be expensive to repair.
