CAR SOS TV Programme - Happy Blue!

Anyone seen this on More 4? Much better that a recent similar series with Philip Glennister although still having a hook for some human interest to keep the non-car enthusiasts happy.

This time a lot more detail into the problems faced and how they were fixed. However it gives the impression that the full restoration was done by two guys in three weeks. The credits at the end clearly show a team of five or six 'mechanics' and I do worry about splicing in lots of new sheet steel without reference to rust protection.

I saw one about a Jeep maybe a week ago, was worth watching but I didn't catch the name - looks like it was this, have I missed a subsequent episode?

CAR SOS TV Programme - Wackyracer

The last one I saw was a Fiat 850 spyder, They never showed what they did with the paper thin floor though. I do hope it got more than a lick of paint.

Yes quite a good watch - so that's what's worth watching on More4?!

Still a bit tedious re some of the "banter" which eats into airtime. Also, I thought there was too much going back over what had just been shown before the extraordinarily long ad breaks. E.g. the personal background/story of the owner, which is fine to see, say, once and maybe at the very end of the show.

But, at least it was an interesting car show - with loads of editing.

And going back to the other Phil Glenister one - I enjoyed it but did anyone notice (anorak moment coming up) the errors in continuity on the various post-restoration test drives?

Also, the auction prices might give a lot of unrealistic hope to some people out there.

CAR SOS TV Programme - 72 dudes

Yes, a good programme, even my wife watches it with me. The Fiat 850 Spyder and the original Cosworth were the best episodes.

For me they spoiled the Beetle by putting silly graphics on it and not keeping it original, and I didn't watch the the US Jeep episode as I have no int.......... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..

Best to catch up on 4OD those that are able to. Judging by the opening credits, there's a Richelieu(?) Red Stag coming up. Or maybe Damask, I forget my 70s BL colours these days.

Tim Shaw is still a tool though, no wonder he didn't last long on Fifth Gear, and who knew that the mechanic guy was the drummer in 'Pop Will Eat Itself'? I'm not familiar with their work but apparently a popular beat combo of the 90's. Younger readers may correct.

CAR SOS TV Programme - Hamsafar

Yep, just watched the other three episodes on 4oD as I had the day off.
Thanks for the heads up. I enjoyed it far more than similarly themed programmes. I agree with not putting on the graphics on the beetle. I think 'Fuzz' has the right ideas but the programme makers thought he needed an antoganist sidekick.

CAR SOS TV Programme - Happy Blue!

Yes. Although Fuzz is an unlikely looking mechanic he seems pretty good. The Tim bloke is just annoying.

CAR SOS TV Programme - Jtype

I like the show but like many others think Tim is Johnathon Ross in disguise. Looked at his career has had more disasters than a kamakasi pilot.Kissing a car engine is infintile to say the least.

Fizz is great can mend my car any time. Why can't the producers have an intelligent presenter instead of such a clown as Tim.
