VW Touran 2006 - Catalytic Converter - Byrne

The engine light comes on and stays on. I have been told the catalytic converter needs to be replaced. Will someone please advise how much I might be expected to pay for the supply and fitting? What sort of guarantee can be expected? Many thanks.

I don't know what the price would be but I think you'd be well advised to fit a genuine OEM part. Non-genuine catalysts typically purchased from most motor factors usually fall well short of genuine quality, hence why they're cheaper.

Many thanks. I'm in Dublin. One garage quoted me €400 approx to supply and fit but when I checked with main VW agency they told me the converter alone costs €1100 I only bought the car recently and notified the fault immediately.
