Be grareful of some advice.

I'm trying to remove the old clutch cable from my Nissan Micra 1998.

I've diconnected it from the pedal and the clutch fork but there is a mounting bracket which the cable is also connected to which I am unable to remove it from.

The bracket has a large "rubber grommet" that is grooved in the centre to fit inside the mount bracket and the cable runs through the centre of the "rubber grommet". But I am unable to remove the cable and "rubber grommet" from the mount bracket. It doesn't seem to be a case of pulling the "rubber grommet" and cable out of the opening in the bracket.

I'd be grateful of any advice.
