Hello we have a volksagen Touran does anyone know the wiring well on these VW cars?

01504 - Bulb for License-Plate Light (X) 012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit

There is a 4 pin plug on the rear, there is no power when the lights are rurned on, I looked at the rubber boots that go through the tailagte, there is no power ether side of the 10 pin plug? it then seems to gosomewhere down the left side of the car.

They were working last week, no accidents since...


looking at the diagram it then goes back to the convenience system central control unit j393

Any ideas please...

The circuit works on a load sensing system .If there is a break in the wiring,or a bulb fails,the system shuts down the power to the consumer.I would check the wiring from the body to the tailgate where it runs through the rubber tube.You may find all the wiring is white in colour,just to make the job more interesting.

Hi thanks, yes like I said in my first post I have done that, Ive checked both side of the rubber boots that run through the tail gate, I am not getting a live?

The last multi plug I have go to if the left side in the roof, still no live?

What next please?
