Audi A3 Saloon - Engineer report - Sally-Ann

Hello HJ

I have a question ! My car was involved in a RTA last week. Anyway independent enginerr came out and did a visual inspection of my car which was on my drive. How accurate can this report be when he did NOT check under the car?

The engineer said my car does not look like a write off but said it will probably cost £4000-£5000 to repair.

I have been doing some research online and came across vechicle inspections called visual inspections and supplementary inspections..Im confused!

You were correct when you said "visual inspection". The full damage normally only becomes evident when the car has been partially or even fully stripped for repair.

Let your insurers just get on with it. No need to start paying for extra inspections.

If I were you I would try and get the car written off. With that amount of money to repair, it must be bad and they are never the same again and it won't be worth as much when you sell it.
