It all depends on how much the car was purchased for.
I'd expect a car with history - and more importly evidence - of work done to be worth much more than one without.
Its always nice to know when a cambelt or clutch was done, and is a good bargaining point if there's no history. I certainly wouldn't buy any car, new or 20 years old, if there's no evidence regular oil changes have been made.
Sadly, people do and then they wonder why the car is falling to bits, then start to blame the marque just because they've bought a lemon.
Same with the lack of a second key. You have to factor in the cost and hassle of getting a second one made, or the even bigger hassle if you lose your only one!
