Nissan Primera P12 - Nissan Primera P12 1.8 (2003) cold start dilemma - expositoukk

Hi folks, I'm hoping someone can help with a nightmare I've been having with my Nissan Primera P12 Petrol 1.8 car since the weather turned cold.

The battery is fine and the engine actually turns over, but it just won't start and usually it takes anything up to 10 minutes to get it going. Once it actually starts, it runs like a dream and I can stop it and start it up again instantly for the rest of the day. However, if I leave it for a few hours or if the engine gets cold again, I am back to square one

I've had it diagnosed, but no faults came up. Reading from the internet, it seems as if a whole range of factors could cause this issue: starter or alternator fault, vacuum leak, faulty fuel return regulator or fuel pump check valve, bad earthing on these models, cold start sensor, etc, but I need someone who knows what they're doing to investigate these or what the fault may be. I'm wondering if anyone on here knows a reliable mechanic in or around Nottingham who'll be able to have a look and say what the issue actually is so that I can have it fixed, please?

With the engine taking up to 10 mins to start, providing it's turning over at a reasonable speed I think you could disregard the starter motor or alternator as being the problem.

It sounds like it would be more of a fault with one of the engine sensors causing the problem.

I was going to recommend Peacock and Purvey in Beeston, but looking online they don't seem to be trading now, so sorry can't help.
