Ford Focus - code for sony cd radio in 2005 ford focus car - Ms Finess

Sorry, same ol' same ol' ... Irecently bought a 2nd hand ford focus. The previous owner didn't have the code for the car radio. I had to change the battery and now can't get the radio to work. Any ideas how to find the code without having to pay bucket loads for it?

You will need the serial number from the radio. It might possibly be available by pressing buttons 1 and 6 (or 2 and5) together. If not, you will need to pull the radio out from the dashboard sufficiently to be able to read the serial number from the label stuck on the radio. You will need a set of removal tools to be able to do this.

When you have the serial number then please post here again. However, if it begins with a "V" then people on here won't be able to do it. There are, however, several people on Ebay who claim to be capable of doing them. Other than that, Ford main dealer.

If it's an "M" code, followed by six figures, then please post it here for the code.

Hi, I dis-connected my battery today as my Voice control doesn't work, so someone suggested dis-connecting the battery and re-connecting, I've done this and now the radio is asking for code which I have but all I get is the 4 dash's and can't input any numbers. The model is FDD200 and serial number V039632. Thanks for any help.Mike

Yes, as above. People on here who do codes and only do "M" ones.

For a "V" code it's a visit to your Ford Main Dealer, I'm afraid, or, if you want to take the chance, there are several people on Ebay who say they can do them for a small fee.

Important information for anyone who is looking for FORD CAR RADIO KEYCODES

1. For radios whose Serial Number begins with an "M", followed by a six digit number, you can use the following link to work out what your Keycode should be:

2. For radios whose Serial Number begins with a "V", followed by a six digit number, I'm afraid there is no Keycode generator available for you to work out the code yourself.

You will either need to visit your local Ford Main Dealer, or there are sellers on Ebay who claim they can supply the Keycodes for "V" Serial Numbers, for a fee.

Nobody on this forum can do Ford radio "V" keycodes, I'm afraid.

Please can someone help? I left my lights on all night and the whole car shut down due to the immobiliser. I bought the car second hand, so do not have the code for the radio. When I turn the radio on I get the Vehicle ID. I have tried the advice from other posts to press 1&5 together to get the Serial number and I only get this - C214 0002 OBD_C and then another screen with lots of letters and then the date the radio must have been issued. Can you help?

You need the serial number.

It will be in the form M123456 or V123456

Try pushing buttons 1 and 6 or 2 and 6 or 2 and 5 as you turn the radio on.

If this doesn't work then you'll need a pair of radio removal tools to be able to pull the radio out of the dashboard a little so that you can read the serial number from the label stuck onto the casing of the radio.

Once you have the serial number then please post again and I expect someone will come along to help you (Unless it's a "V" code - nobody on here can do "V" codes, I'm afraid)

My ford focus 56 plate has had the battery changed and the same problem asking me to wait 30 minutes then wants a code. I have no idea what it is!. I held down buttons 1 & 6 and the only 6 digital code that came up was 820208? does that sound like it code be the serial number? Please help I cant copy without a radio in my car!

I am sorry I might be being stupid but it didn't have either a M or V in front when a lot of numbers can up when I press 2 &. 6 that was the only eight digit one but no M or V in front am I being stupid????r

If it's an "M" serial number then you can get the code using the link in the post immediately above your own.

If it's "V" then Ford Main Dealer or there are people on Ebay who claim they can supply them for a fee.

It will definitely be either an "M" or a "V". Suggest you try again, or, alternatively, pull the radio out of the dash a few inches and read the serial number from the white label on the casing. You will need to obtain a set of radio removal tools in order to be able to do this.

I don't recognise the serial number, I'm afraid.

Ford radio serial numbers usually begin with an "M" or a "V".

Suggest you check it. If it turns out to be correct then I can only suggest you try using the usual Keycode Generator that usually works for "M" serial numbers, which is:

You can also use this, of course, if the serial number does turn out to start with an "M"

If it happens to start with a "V" then I'm afraid it's Ford Main Dealer or there are sellers on Ebay who claim they can do them for a fee.
