I would place the new chain in a pan of fresh oil on the stove and raise the temp to 80 to 100C and hold for about 10 mins. Allow to cool and hang the chain and allow the excess to drain off. Then fit.
I would then drain the oil from the sump and fit the chain. Refill the sump from the top as usual. Fresh oil will drain from the cam chamber down onto the new chain. Now start up.
But then, I'm fussy that way.
