Where is water leaking from on my BMW 330d?

I have a 2001 BMW 330d. The other day the Mrs was driving it home from the gym and it overheated. A friend at a garage the next day confirmed all the belts etc were intact and bled the system, and the overheating stopped. Since then I have been topping up with water as I thought it was just the system running it through, but turns out that its leaking water slowly. It is dripping from the centre of the engine. When the car is parked you can top it up and it doesn't lose anything, but as soon as you start driving it starts to come out again. Any ideas?

If you can see water on the ground under the car and it isn't condensation from the a/c compressor, then either a gasket or the water pump.
