My SEAT Leon's power steering squeals when being held on full lock.

I have a SEAT Leon 150 TDI FR. Today I have noticed a squealing/grinding/squeaking noise coming from the front of the car when I turn the steering wheel hard to the left or right. This noise is only heard when the engine is running. My husband thinks it could be something to do with the power steering. No warning lights are on on the dashboard. Any ideas?

Power steering pump getting strained. Never, ever hold a car on full lock. That uses the power steering to destroy it.
