I want to buy a Peugeot 207 - will the SE Premium 120hp petrol return 40mpg?

I am debating buying a Peugeot 207 as a replacement for our second car in the family. I had narrowed it down to the 1.6 diesel 90, however these tend to be sought after and hence prices hold up. I have found a SE Premium model which is a 2007/07 (July) car with the 120hp petrol engine. Can you confirm that this is a good engine, please? The car has only done 15,000 miles and even has full leather and a high spec. They are asking £5695. Do you think we could expect close to 40mpg on mixed driving?

That will be the newer chain cam Peugeot/BMW engine. Much better, but rattles a bit. Yes, I even got over 40mpg from the THP 150 version in a 207GT.
