Where is the EGR valve on my 2002 Peugeot 406 HDI?

We do not know specific details of each and every car, however the EGR (exhaust gas recycling) is fitted to the car so that when the engine is at tickover, a valve opens and allows some of the exhaust gases to pass back into the intake manifold. Therefore you should be able to trace this on your engine.
