Why is my Kia Shuma making a strange noise when I turn the air conditioning off?

I have a Kia Shuma and noticed the other day, when I switched the air conditioning off, that a noise came from the engine. I have had the AA out to look at it and they say the bearing for the air conditioning is not working correctly, and that I need to get it looked and and that I shouldnt drive it. How much should it cost to repair?

I can't tell you. If it needs a new air conditioning pump, then £500 to £1000. If the pump can be repaired, then maybe a few hundred. Get it to an air conditioning specialist rather than a Kia dealer.
