Why is my BMW 320d's gear stick vibrating?

I have had my new BMW 320d about eight weeks now and covered nearly 5000 miles. It has been back to BMW three times and I am currently trying to get my finance company to investigate. This model, being the 109g/km one, only has manual shift but the gearstick vibrates significantly whilst idling and changing down. I have also noticed vibration through the clutch pedal.

After all three visits to two different dealers, they will only confirm that this is also present on other examples of this model and must be a 'characteristic'. BMW deny any defect. This is on a three-year lease and I can't imagine how I will drive it for this long. I love the car otherwise and the economy is mindblowing.

Probably because you are driving it at low revs in high gears. Does it vibrate at higher revs in lower gears?
