Will Ford contribute to repairing an EGR fault on my 2004 Ford C-Max?

I appear to have seemingly a common fault regarding EGR failure on my 2004 Ford C-Max diesel, where the air pipes were filled with engine oil which the RAC man said was dripping onto the alternator. On reflection I believe this fault must have been building up over time (possibly up to a year, I don't know) and yet nothing had been detected during any services or the MOT. Do we know if there is any comeback from Ford in regard to repairing this problem which could cost £1500 to repair?

Yes, it will have been building up over time but not necessarily displaying any evidence. But an EGR failure does not normally mean a £1500 bill unless the gunge has blocked the oil feed to the turbo, that relies on oil to cool and lubricate its bearings.
