Are Hyundai i10s known for being unreliable?
My daughter's Hyundai i10 (purchased pre-registered new in January 2009) has, after some considerable to-ing and fro-ing, had the EMC changed. Around September 2009, it was 'juddering' and the warning light was flashing. At first it was the leads, then it was the fuse box leaking, and then it was the spark plugs. Eventually they kept the car and, after much prompting, a courtesy car was arranged for a few days and the EMC was diagnosed to be faulty.
All in all, after seven or eight 30-mile round trips to the original dealer, and over a month with a courtesy car, it was fixed. Then the wiper switch packed in. It was replaced (another 120 miles on the clock). Now it's started 'juddering' again, but they do not seem to be interested. We are awaiting a reply to the question 'What will go next?'.
Personally, on past experience, I am not holding my breath. My daughter likes the car but has lost all faith in it. She thinks it's a 'Friday' car, if not an out and out 'lemon'. She is now thinking of a Suzuki Swift or a Kia Venga. What/which would you advise?

Which engine? 1.1 or 1.2. The Kia Picanto 1.1 just received an accolade from Which as the most reliable small car, and that has the same engine as the i10 1.1.
