Mazda bodywork issues?

I have purchased a 2015 Mazda 2 115 sport Nav. I'm impressed with the drive, economy, and specs and look forward to many years of ownership.

However, a friend who owns a MX 5 has urged me to have the car undersealed to prevent rusting.I have found issues with rust on some MX 5 forums, but nothing of note on other models.

During the warranty period bodywork inspections are carried out.

Should I be concerned, is rusting an issue on a modern Mazda? Your input would be appreciated.

This has come from the fact that Mazda Eunos roadsters from 1989 to 1996 were not undersealed and had rust problems. Early Mazda MX5s were also vulnerable in the area just in front of the rear arches. Older Mazda 6s could suffer a bit in the wheelarches. But if you have any work done when the car is not bone dry (need a low bake oven in this weather) then any extra treatment could hold moisture and would anyway void the Mazda no rust through warranty.
