Discovered my used car has a hidden accident history

I bought a Volkswagen Golf GTD from an independent dealer recently. On the journey home I found that the navigation and cruise control didn't work. The seller offered £200 towards the costs of having the car assessed by a Volkswagen dealer. Since the inspection, I've been told that the car has had a considerable front impact. As a result the cruise control will cost a considerable amount to be fixed. What should I do?

Return the car and reject it for a full refund: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/ If the dealer gets difficult, sue him in the Small Claims track of the County Court. It's an open and shut case because he's in breach of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations May 2008 under which the dealer was obliged to have informed you of the prior accident damage.
