Should we fit car door protectors to our Skoda Yeti?

We are thinking of putting car door protectors on our new Skoda Yeti. Would you be keen on them at all and would you recommend the stick on or the slip on type?

I'd go for thin strips of clipover transparent plastic about 12" long down the rear edges of the doors. However, if you want to protect your doors against damage by other people, you'll need a horizontal strip of something along the most prominent sections of the doors. My car has optional bump strips, but they are actually in the wrong place to protect its doors.
