Need a used car to tow a caravan
I need to replace my 11 year old Audi A4 2.0 diesel, which has given excellent service. I want a good driver's car that is compact and not an SUV. The car needs to weigh at least 1500kg as it will need to tow a 1500kg caravan. Any suggestions? Rather fancy a Mazda 6, BMW 3 series or Skoda Octavia.

BMW 320d is good for torque, but 2008-2012 N47s could have timing chain issues. Mazda 6 Skyactive torque not bad either. Oil pump issues with VAG 2.TDIs as well as EA189 Emissions issues, but E288s from 2013 generally good. Mondeo 2.0TDCIs are good towers too.
