Is it wise to buy a Jaguar X-Type diesel estate with a DPF?

I would like to buy a used Jaguar X-Type 2.0-litre diesel estate with full leather seats. Do I need to worry about the expense to replace clogged particulate filters? What is the advantage of the Euro IV model apart from the lower emissions? Does a well serviced but high mileage diesel mean trouble ahead? Which model year should I go for? I only have about £7500 to spend and would want the 2.0-litre for better economy and lower insurance. I'm not bothered about the extra power, better acceleration or 6-speed gearbox of the 2.2l.

Better without a DPF than with one. DPFs only seem to last about 100,000 miles anyway.
