Is the Jaguar X-Type a good replacement for my Ford Mondeo?

I'm swapping my ten-year-old Ford Mondeo TDCI estate with 140,000 miles, which I've owned from new. It has been virtually faultless with no clutch or DMF problems. I have been offered, from a Jaguar main dealer, a 2007 X-Type estate with the 2.2-litre diesel engine, 44,000 miles and one owner, with a one-year warranty for £8000. Are there any problems associated with this engine as opposed to the one I currently have?

A 2007 X-Type diesel is good. A 2008 facelift is bad because by then, even though it kept the old chain cam 2.2-litre diesel (like your Mondeo), it was fitted with a diesel particulate filter that doesn't like repeated short runs from cold. Otherwise an X-Type is a Mondeo, and you know about them.
