Why won't Ford replace a broken dash in my Fiesta under warranty?

I have a Ford Fiesta 58-reg, and have only 2500 miles on the clock. The fascia panel around the radio and air vents has cracked for no apparent reason and the crack is creeping right around this panel. On contacting Ford Customer Service they advised that I take the car to my nearest main dealer. This I did, and was subsequently treated to extreme rudeness and an accusation that I had loaded the car from the back with something and had hit this panel (definitely not) and that I was trying to pull a fast one in getting it repaired under warranty. Then they advised me it was not covered anyway, as trim is only covered for one year.

I argued that I did not expect a relatively new car with so little mileage to just crack up for no reason. The outcome is that neither the dealer nor Ford themselves are interested in offering me any sort of repair. I am disgusted with their attitude. Is it really worth continuing with regular servicing each year if they are not prepared to do anything? Makes me wonder what else they would say is not covered?

Check the car's warranty document. If you consider the dash to have damaged itself, then sue the supplying dealer for failing to supply a car "of satisfactory quality" and get an expert witness to analyse the cause of the damage. If he finds the dash has been struck with anything, obviously forget your action.
