Exhaust fume smell in cabin

I recently collected my new diesel Ford Focus and am very pleased with it. However, when the engine is warm and particularly when the car is stationary I'm confident I can smell exhaust fumes in the cabin. What could be causing this?

Get it checked if you are worried. But what you are smelling is probably the heat generated by the diesel particulate filter brining off the soot created by the engine. They do this passively all the time and actively every 250 miles or so and can get very hot during the active regeneration.
