Why won't my Nissan Micra restart after a short run?

My 1989 Nissan Micra automatic starts first time in the morning. I take her to the supermarket (five miles or so), shop, get back in and she has trouble starting. Any ideas?

You haven't given very much info, but on what little you have, it could be the throttle body that has failed, a common fault on the old model Micras.
