Dual mass flywheel failure on BMW 3 Series
The dual-mass flywheel has failed on my BMW 3 Series. The car is just three and a half years old and has 29k on the clock. My local dealer tells me it will cost £2500 to repair and BMW 'may' pay something towards the repairs as a goodwill gesture.
Surely this is not acceptable on such a young car? I have had the car from new and it has a full service history with the main dealer. Should I expect them to reimburse? I have a feeling that I may be in for a battle...

This can happen and the reason is largely the way the car has been driven. I would expect some goodwill from BMW. An independent could probably replace the clutch and DMF for around £1000. The engine and drivetrain of this model was changed in 2015.
