What's causing my 1997 Audi A4 TDI to lose power?

I bought a 1997 Audi A4 TDI the other month. It was going great until I was going fast one morning, when the car's power just died on me. It now struggles to get to 70mph. Going through the gears, it struggles to go over 3000rpm. Other than that, it drives fine. It doesn't make any bad noises and doesn't overheat. I changed the fuel filter and oil but it's still the same. Can you please help?

It's a stuffed oxygenating catalytic converter in the exhaust manifold.
