golf/focus sized car for 18k a year

hi
looking for a golf/focus size car 12 to 18 month old
do mixed driving about 18 k a year
any recommendations?

18k a year qualifies you for a diesel, and the EA288 1.6TDI and 2.0TDI in the Golf VII aren't the subject of the NOx scandal. But I'd go for a Mazda 3 2.2 Skyactiv 150 diesel or a Honda Civic 1.6iDTEC for outstanding economy and (so far) impeccable reliability.
