Upgrading Qashqai

Hi John

I will be moving home soon and my distance to work will be a 35 mile round trip. I already own a Nissan Qasqai 1.2 DIG-T but I like the idea of the 1.6DIG-Ts extra humph or would I be better off with the 1.5 dci diesel, the1.6dci engine I have been told is a lot noisier and costs a lot more. I would like to stop with the Qasqai as I love it's comfortable ride. The models I am interested in are the n-tec+ or the Tekna. Which would you advise me to buy?

Many Thanks

Lyndon Stanley

I think the X-Trail works better with the 1.6DIG-T, but that might just have been because the Qashqai with the 1.6DIG-T was a poor example: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/nissan/nissan-x-tr.../ The I.6 DCI engine is vastly better than the 1.5DCI and has been reliable since its introduction 5 years ago. Your commute should give it enough of a run and you should get about 60mpg. But actually the Honda HR-V 1.6iDTEC is a better vehicle.
