Should I buy a manual or Tiptronic Porsche 911 Carrera 997?

I've almost convinced myself to buy a Porsche 911, but before I commit what's your thinking on manual vs their Tiptronic gearboxes? The model I am after is a 911 Carrera 2S 2006/2007 (997). I've had a DSG TT for the last three years and loved it. Also, the one I am looking at has done 36,000 miles. Are there any known issues with them or things I should look at getting replaced around this mileage please?

Manual. I wouldn't touch a Tiptronic auto 911. It's basically a torque converter auto with Porsche system manual override. But a 997 is a far better bet than the previous 996. See the entry on car-by-car reviews for the troublespots.
