Tyre and wheel recommendation for a Mercedes B-Class?

I have had endless problems with my tyres on Mercedes Benz B200. Deflation, rim corrosion, punctures etc. Have tried everything. Was thinking of changing car for a newer crossover but cannot afford it at this time so am thinking of changing the wheels/tyres.
I live in the countryside with poor roads, lots of pot holes so I do not want low profile tyres. Should I go for steel wheels or I can I get alloys with normal tyres? What would be your wheel and tyre recommendation please?

You haven't told me what wheels and tyres are on the car. The B170 I tested in 2006 was on 16-inch wheels with 205/55 R16 tyres, which are probably the lowest profile you can go to. www.tyremen.co.uk can fix you up with a set of German Alutec 16-inch wheels for around £360, plus a set of tyres. I'd go for Goodyear Efficient Grip or Michelin Primacy 3. Then run them at 30PSI all round.
