Ecoboost vs TSI reliability

I drive a 2013 Focus 1.6 TDCi with 30k on the clock which is mechanically sound. Though I enjoy a solid 54mpg in mixed driving and expect at least 10mpg less from a petrol engine, my mileage and concerns about reliability are pushing me towards petrol for our next car.

My question is how reliable are the 1.0 Ecoboost engines Ford are producing and do you agree this is a better bet than the 1.5 TDCi based on the above?

And would you recommend a 1.4 TSI ACT Leon FR over the Ford?

The 1.0 EcoBoost engines are reliable. The 100 is averaging 43.2mpg and the 125PS 44.8mpg (www.honestjohn.co.uk/realmpg/ford/focus-2011). However, Peugeot's 1.2 Puretech 130 has more power and more torque and in my hands averaged 49mpg over 12,000 miles. (www.honestjohn.co.uk/realmpg/peugeot/308-2014) The 1.4TSI ACT is a little bit better still for power and torque and so far we're seeing a 45.mpg average (www.honestjohn.co.uk/realmpg/seat/leon-2013)
