Which tyres will improve my Volkswagen Golf 1.4 TSI's handling?

My Golf 1.4 TSI (09) is an excellent car, with only one flaw - the steering. Your website review identifies its lack of enthusiasm in turning corners and failure to track a straight line accurately. My factory-fitted tyres are Pirelli P7 205/55 R16. When the time comes to replace them, would another tyre be any better?

In my experience Yokahamas tend to be the grippiest. But the issue here might be tracking. Just a bit too much toe in will give a vague feeling at the front end.

Comfortable and quiet on the move, enjoyable to drive. Nicely trimmed with great attention to detail. 1.4 TSI sweeter to drive than a diesel.
