Motorway cruiser advice

I commute 90 miles a day with motorway driving and plan to get a used cruiser as my main priorities are driving comfort, stability and safety. Being a used car (c. 50-60K) reliability is important. What would you recommend?

A used diesel with 50k-60k miles is approaching the point where problems could be about to start: DPF, DMF, timing belt, turbo, turbo oil pipes, EGR. So while it may offer better economy than a petrol model it could wind up costing a lot more to run. You might be better off with a petrol engine. Maybe a Honda Accord 2.0 i-VTEC or 2.4 i-VTEC.
