Jaguar F-Type and winter driving

Having recently taken early retirement I am looking to celebrate my new found freedom by swapping my BMW 5 Series for a Jaguar F-Type, probably a V6 (S) Convertible. My only real concern is with its capabilities during the winter months.

Assuming I fit winter tyres, how good, or otherwise, is the RWD version? And how much more capable would the AWD version be? Would I be better, as suggested by a friend of mine, buying a small hatchback, fit all-season tyres and use that for the winter period ?

If using in the winter, get the AWD version and fit winter tyres. But these will be expensive. Also be aware of the limitations of the load carrying capacity. So probably better to get the 2WD and leave it in the garage except on bright, dry winter days. Get that hatchback or 4WD for shopping and for the snow.
